SPARK Season 2025 begins—celebrating the people who shaped our year. Here’s why honoring your community strengthens leadership, events, and human connection.
SPARK Season 2025: A Solstice Tradition That Strengthens Leadership and Human Connection
December grows darker, which means our light has to get stronger. Every year, as we move toward the longest night of the year, I turn toward a personal ritual that has shaped how I lead, design experiences, and move through the world: SPARK Season.
SPARK Season is a simple tradition rooted in gratitude, belonging, and acknowledgment. For the past two years, I’ve used the month of December to honor the people who brought light into my year—people who lifted me, challenged me, encouraged me, or showed up at exactly the right moment.
Not everyone makes the list. But each person I spotlight played a meaningful part in my journey. This blog marks the first post of SPARK Season 2025, and throughout the month I’ll share stories, spotlights, and reflections on the individuals who sparked change and inspired growth.
Why SPARK Season Matters
In the events industry—and in leadership writ large—connection isn’t a soft skill. It’s a strategic advantage. SPARK Season reminds us that:
We rise because others lift us.
We grow because people believe in us.
We keep going because someone shows up at the right moment.
When we intentionally recognize the people who shaped our year, we strengthen our resilience, deepen trust, and reinforce the culture of connection that high-performing teams and unforgettable events rely on.
The Solstice Connection: Light in the Darkest Season
The Winter Solstice is a symbolic threshold: the moment when the light begins to return.
SPARK Season mirrors that energy. It’s a reminder that no matter how dark the world feels—from uncertainty to burnout to transition—collective sparks always chase the dark away.
This season isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. It’s about gratitude. It’s about naming the people who made your year better.
Join the Tradition: Who Lit a Spark for You This Year?
Whether you work in events, leadership, hospitality, or creative industries, the end of the year invites reflection.
Ask yourself:
Who encouraged you when the path got hard?
Who challenged you to grow?
Who reminded you of your own brilliance?
Who stood beside you in a defining moment?
If someone has been a SPARK in your life this year, tag them. Celebrate them. Tell them the story they might not even know they’re part of.
Because acknowledging our community doesn’t just feel good—it strengthens the ecosystems we depend on.
What’s Coming This Season
Throughout December, I’ll share daily and weekly reflections honoring:
Lightbringers
Spark Starters
Creative Catalysts
Resonance Makers
Warmth Keepers
Bold Voices
Steady Flames
Each post illuminates someone who shaped my 2025 in meaningful ways. I hope these stories encourage you to reflect on your own circle and the people who helped you rise.
As always: Collective sparks create brighter seasons—for ourselves, our teams, and our industry.
