Gratitude That Sparks Connection: A Thanksgiving Reflection

Gratitude deepens connection. This Thanksgiving, I’m reflecting on the moments, people, and experiences that help us create more meaningful events together.

As Thanksgiving arrives, I’ve been thinking about gratitude not just as a personal practice, but as a professional one. In the events world, gratitude is more than a polite gesture — it’s a force that shapes how we connect, collaborate, and create meaning together.

Gratitude is Presence. It asks us to slow down and acknowledge the people and moments in front of us. Whether I’m on stage as an emcee or designing an experience behind the scenes, taking a moment to recognize others always brings out more authentic connections.

Gratitude is Resonance. It reminds us of the deeper reason we gather — to be moved, to learn, to feel seen, and to see one another. The simple act of thanking someone can shift energy in a room and create space for trust, curiosity, and engagement.

This week, I’m grateful for the people who make this work possible: the clients who trust me to guide their audiences, the peers who inspire me, the students who stretch my thinking, and the teams who bring every vision to life.

And I’m especially grateful for the moments — big and small — where we get to SPARK something meaningful together.

May your Thanksgiving be full of warmth, connection, and a reminder of the people who make your work worthwhile. Here’s to closing the year with gratitude — and to all the sparks we’ll create next.
